Passionate about chocolate and determined to deliver a product produced from the finest cocoa beans sourced worldwide, The San Francisco Chocolate Factory was born in 1999 as a family business, with founder and CEO Michael Litton packing the first tins of chocolate with his children in our one-room warehouse. We have grown since our humble beginnings almost 25 years ago but have not lost sight of our roots –passion for great chocolate, love of our community and the desire to provide quality chocolate for everyone.
Introduced in 2001 our signature line, Wine Lover’s Chocolate Collection, quickly took center stage and demanded the spotlight. In the first rendition of the line, Wine Lover’s Chocolate boasted six different percentages of gourmet dark chocolate, each with a suggested red wine pairing varietal. Our sleek gift tins filled with decadent chocolate discs quickly became trend-setting best sellers. We were one of the first on the market to specifically pair wine and chocolate in such a distinct fashion. We continue to be the best. The line has grown to include milk and white chocolate offerings; each with a suggested wine pairing.
We also offer a robust custom tin program where we create unique (and delicious) branded products for our many clients. We proudly offer the most nuanced wine and chocolate pairings on the market today; each one taste-tested and backed by our in-house sommelier.
In 2019 we launched our new San Francisco and California Landmark Collections, added new product to our Wine Lover’s Collection, and expanded our custom tin program to include different tin sizes and mints in three delicious flavors. We pride ourselves on offering something for every business and any budget.
We are proud to continue our mission of providing excellent chocolate to the public by sponsoring events such as the Lodi Wine and Chocolate Festival, The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Tasting Competition and attending trade shows like The Special Event.
