From DJ'ing dances at his high school to 10 years later, managing AV for cabinet-level secretaries, Tom has seen the good, the bad, and the weird side of AV.
As a Program Manager with the Bureau of Education and Research, Tom cut his teeth operating (and troubleshooting!) AV systems at 5 properties per week. While juggling event registration and catering, he perfected the art of managing common AV sets and all the nuances that go along with it.
In his role as Event Planner with DavisTrapp/NCI, he switched to the planning side, learning how to quickly and efficiently get what's needed when working with AV partners to host high-pressure government and corporate events. Whether planning 2,000+ attendee, multi-day programs for area non-profits, executive meetings for the Department of VA, or regional sales programs for corporate clients, Tom learned what it takes to squash the bugs and pull off a perfect AV production.
In his current role as Senior Conference Planner at the Cato Institute in Washington, DC, Tom puts his skills to the test, planning and managing several series of high profile think-tank events nationwide.
