Wendy Price is a United States Air Force Veteran, retired fire Captain and now the Director of Safety, Security Training and Firearms and Mandalay Bay Resort Casino in Las Vegas. After spending nearly 2 decades working in the fire service, Wendy knows firsthand what natural, manmade disasters and unsafe conditions can do.
Wendy has taught and has participated in Incident Commands Systems during small, medium and large-scale incidents. In 2008 Wendy received certification from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) as a Certified Associate Emergency Manager. She has additionally acquired State of Nevada Fire Officer III, State of Nevada Fire Inspector II, State of Nevada Master Instructor, State of Nevada Hazardous Materials Incident Commander and is Certified OSHA 10/30.
Wendy’s is an expert in prevention of workplace accidents/illnesses while identifying environmental risks and managing the related hazards at an acceptable level. She ensures regulatory compliance in the workplace so to protect guests/clients and employees from incidents minimizing losses that may impact the company, property, environment and financial assets. She develops and manages the implementation of best safety practices identified through the regulatory statute and local health, building and fire code. She has performed safety oversight of multiple large-scale construction projects and has developed technical safety programs and procedures on all subjects associated to workplace safety. Wendy also has direct oversight of Mandalay Bay Resort Casino’s Security Training and Firearms Programs and has developed and maintains Mandalay Bays Crisis Management Plan while directly coordinating with State and local emergency response agencies.
